Belichick: Manning Is The Best QB I've Faced

Over the last 17 seasons, Bill Belichick has coached against Peyton Manning many times, as they've contended for the AFC crown. As the Patriots prepare to host the Broncos this week, Belichick offered up some high praise for Manning.

New England Patriots head coach, Bill Belichick recently told ESPN that Denver Broncos quarterback, Peyton Manning, is the best he's ever coached against.

"I mean, [Manning is] great, he's obviously a great quarterback. The best quarterback I've coached against." - Bill Belichick

High praise, coming from the best NFL coach of the modern era. Belichick has been Manning's career nemesis. Since Manning entered the NFL, more often than not, the AFC crown has come down to the Patriots, or a Manning-quarterbacked team.

Belichick has a 10-5 regular season record vs Manning, with Tom Brady as his quarterback, showcasing the much maligned narrative that Brady is superior to Manning. In reality, the storyline should be "Belichick-coached teams are superior to Manning".

Belichick knows how to game-plan against the Sheriff. And it shows in his career record. Manning has gotten his licks in, however. In the playoffs, Belichick is 2-2 vs Manning, with his most recent loss coming in the AFC Championship game last January.

This Sunday will mark the next episode in this all-time great NFL saga. The Broncos are 6-1 and currently sit as the AFC's 1-seed, if the season ended today. The Patriots sit at 6-2 but if they defeat the Broncos this week, they will move to the 1-seed, as they'd own the head-to-head tiebreaker.
