Broncos Country will be frustrated for yet another week because Cody Latimer is inactive for today's road matchup vs the St. Louis Rams. There are a few other notable inactives for the Denver Broncos. They are as follows:
Being without Green again is a concern for the Broncos, who have struggled to run the ball without him. Green is really the team's only "blocking" tight end. When he's on the field in 12 Personnel (2 TE Sets), that is when they are the most effective on the ground.
Another week, another gameday inactive for the team's 3rd round draft choice, Michael Schofield. Many in the draftnik community felt that the Broncos reached when they took Schofield out of the University of Michigan that high. But John Elway had earned the benefit of the doubt.
For how high he was drafted, it is a disappointment that Schofield has yet to play a meaningful snap in 2014, especially when the Broncos struggles on the offensive line are factored in. The Broncos have needed help up front, but Schofield (apparently) is nowhere near being ready to contribute. That's not good.
It's common for offensive linemen drafted that high to start as rookies. Not so with Schofield. He has not been able to help his team at all and it has to be alarming for the Broncos brass.
