“One I just did on purpose, and I just had to show him," Talib said. "It’s probably going to be a fine, but, hey, we’re world champs.”
It was an egregious foul, but it saved a touchdown. The Panthers would go on to score on a Jonathan Stewart touchdown plunge, but Talib rolled the dice on the penalty, knowing it would be half the distance to the goal.
Pro Football Talk is reporting that according to a source, the league office will consider suspending Talib for his admitted penalty.
Talib might be in the throes of foot-in-mouth disease, but for now, any potential league discipline for the infraction is a bridge he and the Denver Broncos will have to cross at another time.
Talib was penalized more than once, including on a huge third down, and although he relinquished a few completions, he was one of the primary reasons Cam Newton had nowhere to go with the ball.
For now, with a celebratory parade on deck, Talib is still focused on reveling in the spoils of victory.
