Before the Denver Broncos attend to their unrestricted free agents, they will likely tender their restricted and exclusive rights players.
For restricted free agents, a first round tender is worth $3.352 million, a second round tender is worth $2.356 million and an original round tender is worth $1.542 million.
If a player who receives a tender signs an offer sheet with another team, the Broncos can decide to match the contract offer or decline it, while collecting the compensation that goes along with tender.
C.J. Anderson, RB
Anderson is guaranteed to be tendered, but is also replaceable. Anderson will likely receive a second round tender, but the team may use the original round tender on him if they feel confident no other team will sign him.
Brandon Marshall, ILB
Marshall is in a similar situation as Anderson. He will receive a second round or an original round tender. Marshall is a large part of the defense, but the Broncos are also confident in Todd Davis and Corey Nelson.
Lerentee McCray, OLB
McCray is a solid depth player and will likely receive an original round tender, if he's tendered at all.
Josh Bush, S
Bush will also receive an original round tender as an above average depth guy.
After the Broncos four restricted free agents, the team has five exclusive rights free agents: K Brandon McManus, ILB Todd Davis, WR Bennie Fowler, C Matt Paradis and OL Sam Brenner will all be tendered the ERFA one-year non-guaranteed contract at the minimum salary level.
