Mark Sanchez Hosts Passing Camp in Orange County for Denver Broncos Receivers

Mark Sanchez is holding his passing camp in Orange County with members of the Broncos today. Join analyst Khalid Alshami to find out more.

With the Denver Broncos quarterback situation remaining unclear, the team's current starting signal caller is going about business as usual. Mark Sanchezas 9News in Denver first reported, is hosting the team's receivers, tight ends, running backs and second-year QB Trevor Siemian in Orange County, CA for his QB Camp from Monday to Wednesday.

"Camp Sanchez" will also attend "Dancing with the Stars", offering support to teammate Von Miller as he chases some additional hardware on the show.

This move is not related to the passing camps former QB Peyton Manning held with teammates at Duke University, although similar, as Sanchez has hosted teammates from the Philadelphia Eagles and the NY Jets in the past. The camp will also include whiteboard sessions, as Sanchez works to master the playbook, build trust and chemistry with his new teammates.

"It shows he wants to come in and get to know us before OTAs start," receiver Bennie Fowler told 9News. "I think it's really good. It's going to help us get off to a good start."

Sanchez has enjoyed plenty of ups and downs in the NFL to this point in his career, in Denver he is looking to take full advantage of the huge opportunity in front of him.

“It’ll be nice to get some work in,” Trevor Siemian said. “Mark set this whole thing up.  He’s a good dude from everything I’ve been hearing.”

While GM John Elway is working to acquire Colin Kaepernick from the San Francisco 49ers, Sanchez is reminding his new boss that the team has a capable leader already on the roster.

“He’s taken the Jets to two AFC Championship Games, he’s been in the league for a long time,”  Fowler said. “He’s a good player.  This will be a good situation.”

Sanchez's approach also affords Elway the ability to be patient and to not overpay for Kaepernick, which in the end could prove to make all the difference.
