The Denver Broncos have signed Casey Kreiter to be the team's new long snapper.
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Thursday signed free-agent long snapper Casey Kreiter to a one-year contract, the team announced.
Kreiter (6-1, 250 pounds) is a first-year player who competed with Dallas during the last two offseasons and participated in a combined six preseason games for the club. He was signed by the Cowboys as a college free agent in 2014 from the University of Iowa.
A former special-teams captain for the Hawkeyes, Kreiter was the school’s primary long snapper during his final three collegiate seasons. He received All-Big Ten Conference recognition following his senior season in 2013.
Kreiter was teaching high school science when he got the phone call inviting him to work out for the Broncos. He fills the hole left by Aaron Brewer who was released last month.
