The Broncos emerged victorious due to one of the most phenomenal defensive performances in Super Bowl history. Von Miller, on the back of 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles, was named Super Bowl MVP.
Cam Newton was utterly dominated by the Broncos defense. Shellacked and shell-shocked, Newton retreated into the offseason to lick his wounds and try to forget about Von Miller.
Unfortunately, Miller won't let him do that. Newton posted a picture of himself on Instagram, throwing a ball in a swimming pool.
It didn't take long for Miller to pounce.
It's all in good fun and very tongue-in-cheek for Miller. To the victors go the spoils and the bragging rights and for now, Miller is still reveling in the Broncos third World Championship.
However, it's understandable if some, especially Panthers fans, see this as low-class, kick-him-while-he's-down clowning. Whatever you might think of Miller's photo-shopping skills, at least we can all look forward to the rematch in the upcoming season.
The Broncos and Panthers will square off again in 2016. But it remains to be seen which team will emerge victorious. A lot has changed in Denver since the Broncos trounced Cam Newton and company.
