Wade Phillips' Super Bowl 50 Ring Had The Wrong Name Inscribed On It

Someone screwed up Wade Phillips' Super Bowl ring.

Sunday, the Denver Broncos held a private ceremony to hand out their Super Bowl 50 Championship rings. Almost all players, coaches and executives from 2015 were on hand.

Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips had a great time at the event. After decades of coaching, the anticipation of finally receiving the long-coveted symbol of his Super accomplishment was spoiled somewhat by the fact that the wrong name was engraved on his ring.

Someone screwed up, whether it was the team, or the manufacturer, Jostens. They will fix the issue and get Phillips his most deserving ring.

After all, were it not for Son of Bum, the Broncos wouldn't have been celebrating their special moment Sunday. Phillips coached the Broncos defense to the top of the NFL rankings.

His unit led the league in 14 defensive categories, including sacks (52), and absolutely terrorized Tom Brady and Cam Newton in the tournament. Pundits point to GM John Elway for putting the team together, or Peyton Manning for guiding the ship on-field, or Gary Kubiak for overseeing the day-to-day grind.

But without Phillips, the Broncos wouldn't have emerged from Santa Clara, CA, with their third Lombardi Trophy in team history. Get this man his ring. STAT.
