Camp closes, Broncos face da Bears

Saturday, August 16, 2003 - CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Chicago Bears will say goodbye and good riddance to Memorial Stadium when they meet the Denver Broncos in a preseason game tonight. The Bears were forced to play last year's entire home schedule and the first two exhibition games this season at the University of Illinois

August 16, 2003 - Denver's 38-year-old backup quarterback had to be sweet-talked into returning for a 17th NFL season by coach Mike Shanahan. Tonight Beuerlein will see his first action of the preseason and it will be a chance to prove to the team he can get the job done. Last season the Broncos lost a couple of key games down the stretch he started for an injured Brian Griese.
