Denver Broncos Set 53-Man Roster—For Now

After a day spent cutting their roster down to the final 53, the Broncos now have personnel clarity.

The Denver Broncos waited til the last minute. At the 2pm MST deadline, the news began to break on whom the Broncos had waived and released to get down to the final 53.

Among the surprise cuts were quarterback Mark Sanchez, running back Ronnie Hillman and safety Shiloh Keo The Broncos unloaded $5 million off the salary cap with Sanchez and Hillman. Neither came as a huge shock, although I am surprised the Broncos cut bait with Hillman, as he was the only proven veteran behind C.J. Anderson

As for Keo, he's suspended for two games. The Broncos could look at bringing him back when he's eligible to return.

The Broncos signed free agent quarterback Austin Davis to serve as the veteran fail-safe behind Trevor Siemian. If you can call him a fail-safe. That's a topic for another time.

All eight of GM John Elway's 2016 draft picks made the team. Here's your current Denver Broncos 53-man roster.
