Broncos waive Carswell, Chamblin and Moore

The Denver Broncos Thursday waived tackle Trohn Carswell, cornerback Corey Chamblin and tackle Freddie Moore, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced.

Aug. 21, 2003 - The Broncos claimed Carswell off waivers on June 23 as a rookie free agent from Carolina. He signed with the Panthers on May 12, before being released June 11. He played in 23 career games at Rutgers after transferring from Butte Junior College.

Chamblin, prior to signing with the Broncos, was out of football in 2002 after being released by Tampa Bay Sept. 1. In 2001, he again was out of football after being released during training camp by Green Bay. The 5-10, 189-pound cornerback appeared in 11 regular-season games for Jacksonville in 1999, all on special teams, where he notched three special teams tackles and blocked a punt in a divisional playoff game against Miami (1/15/00).

Moore entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Cincinnati in 2001, but tore his medial collateral ligament in his knee and was placed on the Bengals' injured reserve Aug. 27. He was released by Cincinnati on Oct. 8, 2001. Moore spent this past spring in NFL Europe as a member of the Berlin Thunder before signing with Denver on June 23.
