Denver Broncos Are Looking To Fill Five Positions Of Need In 2017 Free Agency

We now have a better picture of how the Broncos will approach free agency in 2017.

We've talked about the Denver Broncos roster holes here at Mile High Huddle for the better part of the last couple months. We've identified them, and projected which NFL free agents the Broncos could show interest in when the new league year opens in March.

According to one source close to the team, the Broncos have a specific laundry list of needs, or positions, they'd like to fill in free agency, which will allow them to stay as true as they can to the 'Best Player Available' approach in the NFL Draft. GM John Elway and Head Coach Vance Joseph are looking for three starting-caliber offensive linemen, but that's not all.

They'd also like to sign two starting-caliber defensive linemen, a veteran quarterback, a veteran wide receiver and an inside linebacker in free agency.

The Broncos can begin to negotiate with prospective free agents on March 7. The official free agent signing period opens up on March 9 — also day one of the new league year.

The Broncos have a decision to make on left tackle Russell Okung before March 9. And right tackle Donald Stephenson on March 14.
