The Denver Broncos Sign Former Saints OLB Kasim Edebali

The Broncos added pass rushing depth to their defense.

Despite making a pair of modest deals to bolster the defensive line depth just a couple of days ago by signing Domata Peko and Zach Kerr, the Denver Broncos are still looking to bring in new faces that can compete for a spot.

Earlier Monday, Troy Renck reported that the Broncos had a visit scheduled with former New Orleans Saints defensive end Kasim Edebali. The Broncos reportedly have signed Edebali to a one-year deal.

Like a number of current Broncos, Edebali was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College prior to the 2014 season. He was able to set himself apart and crack a lackluster Saints defensive unit after a productive preseason with both his pass-rushing prowess as well as his special teams efforts.

http://www.scout.com/nfl/broncos/story/1681565-5-reasons-you-should-go-p... Edebali, 27, will provide the Broncos with a rotational pass-rushing presence. He's started just two games over the last three seasons in New Orleans, but has accumulated 54 combined tackles, eight total sacks, and three passes defensed in that time coming off of the bench.

Five of those sacks came in 2015 as a rotational pass rusher. His best game as a pro came in a 2014 victory over the Green Bay Packers in which Edebali sacked Aaron Rodgers twice and forced a fumble in the process.

DeMarcus Ware has officially retired and the Broncos could always use another player with pass-rush ability to set the edge opposite of Von MillerShane Ray, or Shaq Barrett.

With players like Barrett, Dekoda Watson, and Vontarrius Dora, GM John Elway has shown a knack for finding unheralded edge defenders in free agency.
