Denver Broncos 2017 Preseason Schedule Announced

The Broncos preseason schedule has been announced by the team. (Kind of)

The Denver Broncos, for the third time in seven years, are entering a new season with a new head coach. The Vance Joseph era officially kicked off on Monday, as the Broncos convened for the opening of organized team activities (OTAs).

Coincidentally — or perhaps not — the Broncos announced a version of their 2017 preseason schedule on Monday. We won't know the exact dates of the preseason games until the NFL releases the full regular season schedule. But we now know which opponents Denver will face and in which weeks.

Week 1 (Aug. 10-13) at Chicago Bears

For the second straight year, the Broncos will travel to take on their old head coach's team. John Fox is entering his third season as Chicago's head man, with the honeymoon officially in the rearview. It's put-up-or-shut-up time for Foxy in the Windy City.

Week 2 (Aug. 17-20) at San Francisco 49ers

Denver's preseason love-fest with San Francisco continues. The Broncos will face the 'Niners in the preseason for the sixth-straight year.

GMs John Elway and John Lynch — two friends and fellow Stanford Cardinal alums — get to square off against one another and probably share a steak somewhere in the Bay Area after the game. Lynch hasn't been shy about targeting Broncos personnel and coaching assets since hired in San Francisco. We'll see how the 'Niners measure up with the Broncos on the exhibition grid-iron.

Week 3 (Aug. 24-27) vs. Green Bay Packers

After opening the preseason with two consecutive road games, the Broncos will host their first of two home games against Aaron Rodgers and company. The third week of the preseason is traditionally considered to be the "dress rehearsal" for the regular season, so there's a good chance fans will get a long look at Rodgers and the Packers first-team units.

Week 4 (Aug. 31) vs. Arizona Cardinals

Denver closes out the preseason with their second NFC West opponent, after also facing two NFC North foes. This will be the third-consecutive season that the Broncos will play the Cardinals in the preseason finale.

Regular Season

Although we don't know the exact order, or dates, of the 2017 regular season schedule, we do know which teams Denver will face at home and on the road. Denver's 2017 slate of opponents is fierce. Here's what the Broncos have to look forward to.
