Beginning in August 2004, Fox Sports Net is slated to telecast replays of all Denver Broncos preseason games made available to its local broadcast partner. The telecasts will be aired throughout the network's eight-state territory, serving nearly 3 million cable and satellite subscribers. The game replays will air exclusively on the network after a live telecast of the game airs on KCNC-TV.
Fox Sports Net, in partnership with KCNC-TV, also will telecast an exclusive half-hour Broncos pre-game show prior to each regular season game. KCNC will also air a post-game show for 15-minutes following each Broncos regular season game, while FSN airs a continuation of the show for an additional 30-minutes.
"We're thrilled Fox Sports Net is able to create a new partnership with the Broncos and KCNC-TV, providing additional Broncos coverage and analysis to fans in the Rocky Mountain region," says Griggs. "Having the Broncos, in addition to the Rockies and extensive collegiate programming such as CSU, CU, and University of Denver, offers unique and valuable programming for fans of local sports teams."
"Fox Sports Net is an ideal partner to compliment our new contract with KCNC-TV," said Ellis, adding that, "FSN has become a key player in local sports coverage. The time they devote to local sports, as well as the professionalism of their approach, will make this a great addition for all Broncos fans. We are very pleased with this agreement."
FSN and KCNC-TV will also explore collaborative efforts for additional original programming and initiatives.
This marks the first time FSN has acquired local telecast rights to the Denver Broncos. For the past several years, FSN has provided live coverage of the Broncos weekly press conferences as well as other breaking news announcements.
