Coach Mike Shanahan
(postgame quotes following Denver's 31-17 win over Houston)
"First of all it's always nice to find a way to win. As I told our team, sometimes you're going to win games 10-9, other times you're going to win games 41-39. You got to find a way to win. I thought our guys played extremely hard today. By no means was it perfect. We get a chance to go back and look at the positives and the negatives, and get better over the next couple weeks and get ready for (season opener) Kansas City."
On Broncos passing game:
"We moved the football. We've been moving the football pretty good. We have not scored inside the red zone, and we've turned the football over. If you do that, good things usually don't happen. Today we didn't turn the football over until the last part of the two minutes, less than a minute to go. We moved the ball extremely well, and we got the ball in the end zone once we got in the red zone, so that was a plus."
On Bronco injuries to WR Triandos Luke and RB Mike Anderson:
"Unfortunately, I think (Triandos) Luke is going to be alright, I think just a little sore shoulder. Mike (Anderson) I think is a little more serious, he felt the groin pop. The disappointing thing is that he wasn't supposed to be in there. We had a couple guys go down; one guy goes down and he goes in there and it's a little bit of a freak accident, especially at that position, one of the safer positions on that punt team. We just keep our fingers crossed and hope that it's not too long but right now I don't know."
