With the official cuts scheduled for less than twenty-four hours, I'll take a stab at my predictions as to who will be released when the Denver Broncos make their final cut to the league mandated 53-player limit on Sunday.
Players that are released on Sunday, may still find hope in the waiver wire or possibly back with the team that released them, re-signed to the eight-man practice squad.
Schon's pick for Release
QB Bradlee Van Pelt
RB Ahmaad Galloway
FB Cecil Sapp
DE Clint Mitchell
DE Randy Garner
S Chris Young
LB Charles Burton
WR Romar Crenshaw
WR B.J. Johnson
TE Mike Leach
LG Shannon Snell
C Josh Sewell
Of the above picks, the strongest candidate for the practice squad is Bradlee Van Pelt. Coming off an impressive touchdown drive in Denver's final preseason game solidified his re-signing, provided that no other team claims him off waivers.
Be sure to check back and see how good, or how bad my predictions actually were. Broncos Update will provide a full list of players that were cut immediately following the announcement.
