No Broncos player ever called the Colts "soft" in the week leading up to the game. A story was written in Indianapolis about it without any Denver player being quoted as saying the Colts were soft.

Before the first play from scrimmage of the 2004 season, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was asked about the rule change limiting contact between defensive backs and wide receivers. Belichick quickly pointed out in the pregame interview that the rule wasn't new. What had changed, he said, was the illegal contact becoming a point of emphasis by officials.

The best team playing last weekend was the team that ran past the Broncos. All day long. The Indianapolis Colts are as good as any team and took a breather last week. In any other year, this Colts team would have home-field advantage in the AFC.
