Lynch recognizes youth at Awards luncheon

John and Linda Lynch honor Denver's brightest young student-athletes during the seventh annual John Lynch Salutes the Stars luncheon scheduled for Wednesday, May 18 at 11:30 a.m. at INVESCO Field at Mile High Stadium, United Club Level – East Side in Denver.

The John Lynch Salutes the Stars luncheon, hosted by Denver Bronco S John Lynch and his wife Linda, is designed to recognize students who excel in the classroom, on the field and in the community. Keynote Speaker Coach Mike Shanahan, fellow teammates and captains LB Al Wilson and WR Rod Smith, and other business and community leaders will also be on hand to help to acknowledge the students. This year marks the first time the event, created seven years ago in Tampa, will be held in Denver.

Each month the John Lynch Foundation chooses a male and female student-athlete from both middle schools and high schools in Cherry Creek Schools and Denver Public Schools to receive the John Lynch Star of the Month award. Monthly winners then become candidates to win the prestigious John Lynch Star of the Year awards. This year's winners will be announced during the John Lynch Salute the Stars luncheon. The following awards will be presented at the luncheon: Star of the Year, Disabled Star of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Coach of the Year, and the Lynch Family Legacy Scholarships. To date, the John Lynch Foundation has awarded $116,000 in college scholarships and assisted 30 students to achieve their dreams at the collegiate level.

The John Lynch Foundation is committed to developing quality young leaders by providing programs that assist and motivate, recognizing achievement and excellence, and encouraging dreams. The Lynches strongly believe that values can be learned through sport participation and community involvement. Teamwork, time management, responsibility, involvement and determination are the lessons that carry over into all areas of life.

$100 individual tickets and $1000 corporate tables are available. Contact 1-866-553-4747 for more information.
