As usual the Broncos start off red hot. They get three straight wins with two of them coming against division rivals. The Chargers game is a barnburner but Jake the Snake engineers an Elwayesque drive in the final minute and caps it off to Rod Smith (no lob pass please).
They then drop another one in Jacksonville because the offense sputters. The Washington game is a romp.
In to town come the champion New England Patriots. The game goes back and forth and once again (remember them taking a safety for field position?) the Bellichik out coahches Shanahan in the second half.
The Giants game at the Meadowlands is cake. Bailey has a field day picking off Manning. The Owensless Eagles put up a good fight but lose at Invesco.
As usual we have a midseason slide and they drop 3 out of 4 with the ugliest one coming against KC and the heartbreaker coming on Turkey Day against Dallas.
The Broncs make amends for three seasons worth of losses to Baltimore and pull off a squeaker to get back on track. They fall asleep on the road in Buffalo and get trounced. Then they smoke the Raiders (who are well out of playoff contention at the time).
Finally they complete the sweep of the Chargers and win the AFC West with an 10-6 record.
This obviously is a very optimistic but feasible record to achieve.
