1st. Half Notes:
Toss out the heat, the humidity, the short week and the Florida Curse – the Denver Broncos came to play.

Although the offense started out sluggish they began to find themselves midway through the second quarter as Jake Plummer connected on a two-yard toss to Dwayne Carswell to open up the scoring with a 7-0 lead. Plummer again found Carswell in the closing minutes of the first half on a one-yard pass giving Denver a 14-0 halftime lead.

Defensively the Broncos continued their momentum from Monday night, putting constant pressure on quarterback Byron Leftwich. To this point, Denver has limited the Jaguars time of possession to a mere 8:35, giving up only two first downs in the process.

Throughout the first half the Broncos dominate in every aspect of the stats sheet –
Net Yards Passing – 108-43
Net Yards Rushing – 76-5
Total Net Yards – 184-48
1st Downs – 16-2

Jake Plummer – 16/19, 108-yards, 2 touchdowns
Byron Leftwich – 4/10, 43-yards, no touchdowns

Champ Bailey and Darrent Williams were both deactivated before the game with injuries.
