McGeoghan placed on Non-Football Injury list

Wide Receiver Phil McGeoghan has been placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - The Denver Broncos Tuesday placed wide receiver Phil McGeoghan on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list. The 6-2, 224 lbs. receiver injured his shoulder in May playing for the Berlin Thunder in NFL Europe.

McGeoghan was signed to the Broncos' practice squad Oct. 31, 2001 and signed to the active roster Nov. 15. He played in two games with the Broncos, participating only on special teams. He entered the NFL in April 2001 as a non-drafted free agent from Maine, and was signed by the New York Jets (4/26/01). He spent six weeks last season on Oakland's practice squad last season before signing with Denver.

The Broncos also announced they will receive seven roster exemptions, as allowed by regulations within the NFL, for allocating players to NFL Europe this past offseason. The Broncos sent six players to NFL Europe, including center Ben Hamilton (Berlin Thunder), quarterback Todd Husak (Berlin Thunder), defensive back Sam Young (Berlin Thunder), wide receiver Ricky Hall (Frankfurt Galaxy), linebacker Kenny Jackson (Barcelona Dragons) and defensive back Greg Brown (Rhein Fire). The seventh exemption will come because linebacker Jude Waddy, who played for the Berlin Thunder, signed with the Broncos on July 8.
