Schon: Broncos - Seahawks Pre-Game Notes

Syndicated columnist Schon gives us all the latest News and Notes from the Press Box as the Broncos take on the Seattle Seahawks.

In a feeble attempt to keep my fingers warm, here's a few quick pre-game notes from press box at Invesco Field.-

I'd like to thank NBC for moving the game from its normally scheduled 2:15 kickoff to the Sunday night slot. When I arrived at the stadium about and hour ago it was a blistering 19 degrees and falling. I'm sure the 70,000+ with tickets appreciate having to double-wrap their kids so you can pull down some extra ratings.

Adam Meadows and Chad Mustard were both placed on the tonight's inactive list with injuries. George Foster will replace Meadows at right tackle. Tatum Bell is back in the lineup after being out the past two weeks with turf toe - he'll split his time in the backfield with Mike Bell. Other inactives include – Quincy Morgan, Damien Nash, Cedric CObbs, Nate Webster, Kenny Peterson and Antwon Burton.

Rookie tight end Tony Scheffler, one of Jay Cutler's main targets during the pre-season, returns to the lineup after sitting out nearly a month.

Did I mention it was cold?

Jake Plummer spent a good deal of time on the field warming up – although he's benched as far as quarterback duties he'll remain as Jason Elam's holder on field goals.

The Seahawks' inactives include QB Gibran Hamdan, LB D.D. Lewis, C Robbie Tobeck, T Ray Willis, DE Robert Pollard, WR Bobby Engram, TE Itula Mili and David Greene (3rd quarterback)

With the game set for national television coverage, we decided to postpone our live game blog in favor of more expanded post game coverage.

BTW - It's still cold…
