Tim Crowder Teleconference

Texas defensive end Tim Crowder, the Denver Broncos' second round draft choice, holds a teleconference.

"On being drafted by the Broncos"

"I talked to Coach (Mike) Shanahan, and I talked with the defensive line coach, and they told me that they would be happy to have me there and I can't wait to get there."

On what he brings to the game

"I feel like I am a complete defensive end. I can play the run and I can also play the pass. I feel like I can do it all and bring everything to the table. So I am going to play hard every play."

On his streak of consecutive starts at the University of Texas

"I take a lot of pride in it. It is not easy. I had to work out extra hard to keep my strength up."

On talking with the Broncos before the draft

"I only had talked with the defensive line coach one time out in Arizona, and I also talked with someone out at the Combine."

On competing with DE Jarvis Moss for playing time

"I feel like it is a good thing. It will be good competition. Like I always say, you never know what might happen. We both may come in there and take out both defensive ends. I am going to bring my A game and compete hard."

On his 40-yard dash time

"I don't really know how much my 40 time helped my cause. I felt like it was more of just being a great character guy and just playing hard in and out and also great durability."

On whether he considered playing baseball

"No, not at all. I have dreamed about making it here for years now."

On which side he will play

"We really haven't got into all of the details yet. We will go over it tomorrow when I get there."

On how he spent his draft day

"I just had a lot of my family and friends over back in Tyler, Texas. We watched it on TV hoping to be picked."
