Schon: Free Agency - Day One

It's finally official, Javon Walker has been released by the Denver Broncos. LB Ian Gold is also among the casualties... Catch all the latest in Schon's Free Agency Blog.

2:15 pm MST - The official word has come down - BOTH Javon Walker and Ian Gold have been released. Now that the shock of that has worn down, I don't expect anything much to happen with Jason Elam over the next couple of days, the placekicker is in Israel and not scheduled to return for two weeks.

As far as John Lynch goes, (in case you didn't happen to catch my Rumor Mill Blog - the Broncos asked him to take a severe pay cut - he told them he'd sleep on it), evidently he's still sleeping. Personally I think his days in Denver are over. Then again, what do I know. I had to check the internet to figure out who Niko Koutouvides even was, and he's scheduled for a Dove Valley visit tomorrow as a candidate for Ian Gold's job. On a side note: If the guy actually does get signed, I promise I'll try and remember how to spell his name.

2:15 pm MST - Like this was any surprise - preliminary reports indicate the Javon Walker has been released by the Denver Broncos. Evidently complaining about your job to a world wide audience does not sit well with the folks at Dove Valley.

While Cowboys fans are chomping at the bit to have the former Texas native suite up with Terrell Owens, it's hard to fathom Walker being satisfied playing second fiddle to one of the games' greatest considering his unhappiness behind second-year starter Brandon Marshall. It'll be interesting to see how this one plays out.

Ian Gold appears to be second on the Broncos list of cuts, with arrangements already underway for a visit by LB Niko Koutouvides on Saturday, after he finishes up with Tampa Bay this afternoon.

Stay tuned for all the latest Rumors, Rants and Raves from Free Agency Day One.
