Broncos Trim Roster to 53

The Denver Broncos trimmed 17-players off their roster Saturday to reach the league mandated 53-man roster limit. Check out the full list of those released.

Well here you go Colorado – the Denver Broncos have officially trimmed down to the league mandated 53-man roster limit by waiving 17 players today. The team also placed RB Anthony Alridge (left foot) and fullback Cecil Sapp (left quadriceps) on its reserve/injured list and moved tight end Brett Pierce (left ankle) to its waived/injured list.

Beginning Sunday, the team can establish a practice squad of up to eight players. Here's the list of those released, broken down by position.

Quarterback: Darrell Hackney
Wide receiver: Glenn Martinez, Marquay McDaniel and Clifford Russell
Tight end: Chad Mustard
Offensive linemen: P.J. Alexander, Dylan Gandy and Mitch Erickson
Defensive end: Larry Birdine and Paul Carrington
Defensive tackle: Steven Harris
Linebacker: Jordan Beck
Cornerback: Wale Dada and Tyrone Poole
Safety: Josh Barrett and Vickiel Vaughn
Punter: Sam Paulescu
