Broncos Release Six Players

The Denver Broncos released six players this afternoon as they continue the rebuilding process under new head coach Josh McDaniels.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Monday released six players, it was announced.

Of the six players, only TE Nate Jackson came from the offensive side of the ball.

The biggest name that was let go was starting DT Dewayne Robertson. A league source told Scout.com that the interior defensive lineman was due a whopping $17 million roster bonus.

Another former free agent signee who was let go, MLB Niko Koutouvides, was due a roster bonus close to $1.8 million. The former fourth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks out of the 2004 draft was beaten out for a starting job by veteran LB Nate Webster coming out of training camp.

Also jettisoned Monday were DE John Engleberger, LB Jamie Winborn, and SS Marquand Manuel.
