Nolan Out as DC

Despite the team's improvement on defense, Mike Nolan is out as the Denver Broncos defensive coordinator

Despite the team's improvement on defense, Mike Nolan is out as the Denver Broncos defensive coordinator, FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer reports.

Nolan was in his first season with Broncos, but head coach Josh McDaniels and Nolan decided to "mutually part ways," Glazer reported.

With Nolan on the market, he could quickly become a candidate to fill the vacant defensive coordinator job with the Miami Dolphins. The Chicago Bears, who are still looking for a defensive coordinator, run a 4-3 scheme. Miami runs a 3-4, which is the same as Denver used this season.

A source told Scout.com that Denver had been calling around the league in recent weeks to see which coaches might become available soon, so Nolan's departure could have been in the works since their season ended.
