Broncos sign 19 UDFAs

The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms with 19 college free agents.

Kevin Alexander (6-foot-4, 265 pounds) is a rookie outside linebacker/defensive end from Clemson University who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010… Played 53 career games at Clemson, totaling 125 tackles (70 solo), 12.5 tackles for a loss (43 yds.), 5.5 sacks (24 yds.), two pass breakups and one forced fumble… Started during his final two years at Clemson and did not miss a game during his collegiate career… Helped Clemson finish among the nation's top 25 teams in both total defense and scoring defense during all four seasons… Placed fifth on the Tigers with a career-high 54 tackles (34 solo) while ranking second on the team with 3.5 sacks as a senior in 2009… Registered at least one tackle in each of his final 40 games for the Tigers… One of the strongest players at Clemson, bench pressing 470 pounds… Older brother, Bennie, was a starting cornerback at the University of Florida… Totaled 389 career tackles (282 solo) at Union County High School in Lake Butler, Fla., where he was a teammate of running back C.J. Spiller, who he would go on to play with at Clemson… Majored in sociology at Clemson… Kevin Alexander was born on July 1, 1987.

Alric Arnett (6-foot-2, 189 pounds) is a rookie wide receiver from West Virginia University who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010… Played 26 career games as a two-year starter at West Virginia, totaling 78 receptions for 1,052 yards (13.5 avg.) with nine touchdowns, after competing at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona (2006) and Butler Community College in Kansas (2005)… Redshirted at West Virginia in 2007 due to a thumb injury… Saw time in all 13 games as a senior in 2009, ranking second on the Mountaineers in both receptions (43) and receiving yards (586) while tying for the team high in receiving touchdowns (3)… Led West Virginia in receiving yards as a junior in 2008, totaling 466 on 35 catches with six touchdowns… Named an NJCAA All-Star at Scottsdale C.C… Also competed in track at Butler C.C. in addition to playing on its football team… Named a team captain as a senior at Glades Central High School in Belle Glade, Fla., where he also was a member of its track team and posted the state's third-best time in the 400-meter event… Majored in athletic coaching education at West Virginia… Alric Arnett was born in Belle glade, Fla.

Toney Baker (5-foot-10, 225 pounds) is a rookie running back from North Carolina State University who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010… Played 38 career games at N.C. State from 2005-09, totaling 451 rushes for 2,045 yards (4.5 avg.) with 17 touchdowns along with 65 receptions for 676 yards (10.4 avg.) with four scores… Finished his collegiate career ranked 11th in school history in both rushing yards (2,045) and rushing touchdowns (17)… Ranked sixth in the Atlantic Coast Conference in rushing (64.4 ypg.) and ninth in all-purpose yards (94.0 per game) in 2009, totaling 160 rushes for 773 yards with six touchdowns and 28 catches for 355 yards with three scores… Received the ACC's Brian Piccolo Award in 2009 as the conference's most courageous player after recovering from a right knee injury that forced him to miss nearly the entire two previous seasons… Entered his junior campaign in 2007 on the Doak Walker Award (nation's best running back) watch list before suffering the knee injury in the season opener against the University of Central Florida… Earned consensus All-America honors at Ragsdale High School in Jamestown, N.C., where he finished his career with the third-most rushing yards (10,231) in national high school history along with 161 touchdowns… Majored in parks, recreation and tourism at N.C. State… Toney Baker was born on June 16, 1986.

Jaron Baston (6-foot-1, 305 pounds) is a rookie defensive lineman from the University of Missouri who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010... Totaled 101 tackles (45 solo), 2.5 sacks (14 yds.), one interception (5 yds.) and two fumble recoveries while not missing a game in 54 career contests (27 starts) for the Tigers... Opened all 13 games as a senior in 2009 and received second-team All-Big 12 honors by the league coaches... Notched a career-high 49 tackles (17 solo) andeight tackles for a loss (22 yds.), as a junior in 2008 to earn honorable mention All-Big 12 accolades... Contributed as a reserve as a freshman and sophomore after redshirting in 2005... Named a first-team all-state selection in his final two seasons at Blue Springs High School in Blue Springs, Mo., while leading the team to a Class 6 state championship (2003) and two conference and district championships (2003-04)... Earned All-state honors in track and field in high school and took third in the state wrestling championships as a senior... Jaron Londale Baston was born on April 10, 1987, in Kansas City, Mo.

Devin Bishop (6-foot-1, 239 pounds) is a rookie inside linebacker from the University of California who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010... Spent three seasons with the Golden Bears and totaled 66 tackles (37 solo) and 2.5 sacks in 24 games played (nine starts)... Appeared in all 12 games as a senior (nine starts) and tied for fourth on the team with 53 tackles (31 solo) while receiving the Ken Cotton Award as the most courageous player on defense... Played 12 games in a reserve role as a junior and accounted for 13 tackles (6 solo)... Redshirted in 2007 after transferring from City College of San Francisco, where he earned junior college All-America honors as a sophomore with a team-high 45 tackles for the Rams... Attended Will C. Wood High School in Vacaville, Calif.... His father, Dennis Bishop, played professionally in the USFL and his brother, Desmond Bishop, is currently a linebacker for the Green Bay Packers... Devin Leonard Bishop was born on July 17, 1986, in San Francisco.

Korey Bosworth (6-foot-1, 242 pounds) is a rookie outside linebacker/defensive end from UCLA who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010... Totaled 154 tackles (91 solo), 11 sacks (79 yds.) and 33.5 tackles for a loss (141 yds.) in 51 career games (28 starts) for the Bruins... Opened all 13 games as a senior and ranked third on the team and sixth in the Pacific-10 Conference with 14 tackles for a loss (58 yds.) while placing second on the team with five pass breakups... Started all 12 games as a junior and led the Bruins with 7.5 sacks (45 yds.)... Appeared in all 13 games (3 starts) as a sophomore and saw action in all 13 contests as a freshman after redshirting in 2005... Selected for the Coca-Cola Bowl in 2005 after his prep career at Plano West Senior High school in Plano, Texas, where he totaled 219 career tackles and earned first-team all-district honors as a senior... His uncle, Brian Bosworth, was a two-time Butkus Award winner at the University of Oklahoma and played for the Seattle Seahawks... Has a twin brother, Kyle, also played at UCLA... Marcellus Bowman (6-foot-2, 225 pounds) is a rookie safety from Boston College who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010... Totaled 129 tackles (87 solo), six interceptions (210 yds, TD) and two forced fumbles in 49 career games played (15 starts) for the Eagles... Started all 13 games as a senior and placed second on the team with 73 tackles (48) to go along with two sacks (17 yds.), two interceptions (53 yds.) and two forced fumbles... Played as a reserve free safety as a junior in 2008, while also opening three games at strong safety and placing third on the team with three interceptions (157 yds., TD)... Played all 13 games as a freshman and in nine contests as a sophomore after redshirting in 2005... Earned Division IV all-state honors as a senior at Liberty High School, in Liberty Township, Ohio, after recording 177 tackles (65 solo) on defense to go along with 854 all-purpose yards (215 rushing, 396 receiving, 243 returning)... Marcellus Bowman was born on Oct. 12, 1986, in Girard, Ohio.

Chris Brown (5-foot-10, 200 pounds) is a rookie running back from the University of Oklahoma who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010… Played 45 career games (14 starts) at Oklahoma, totaling 626 rushes for 2,923 yards (4.7 avg.) with 42 touchdowns along with 44 receptions for 323 yards (7.3 avg.) with three scores… Received honorable mention All-Big 12 Conference accolades in each of his final two years with the Sooners… Finished his career fourth in Oklahoma history in total touchdowns (45) and rushing touchdowns (42) while ranking ninth in rushing yards (2,923) and fifth in rushing attempts (626)… Started 10-of-13 games played as a senior in 2009 and had 749 yards on 182 carries (4.1 avg.) with seven scores… Posted a career-high 1,220 rushing yards on 216 carries (5.6 avg.) as a junior in 2008 while registering the fifth-most rushing touchdowns (20) for a season in Sooners history to help Oklahoma reach the BCS National Championship Game… Named all-state twice at Alexandria High School in Alexandria, La., where he posted more than 1,600 rushing yards and 20 rushing touchdowns in each of his final two years and was named a PrepStar All-American… Majored in sociology at Oklahoma… Chris Brown was born on May 2, 1987.

Paul Duncan (6-foot-7, 315 pounds) is a rookie tackle from the University of Notre Dame who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010… Played 41 career games (24 starts) at Note Dame and saw time at both tackle positions with the Fighting Irish... Started all 12 games at left tackle as a senior while logging the third-most playing time (736:47) on the entire team... Took a medical redshirt after missing the entire 2008 season with a hip injury... Started all 12 games for the Irish as a junior in 2007, opening the first two games at left tackle and the final 10 contests at right tackle... Appeared in 12 games as a reserve offensive lineman during his sophomore season... Played in five games as a true freshman in 2005... Graduated from East Paulding High School in Dallas, Ga., where he was named the 2004 Offensive Lineman of the Year in the state of Georgia by the Atlanta Touchdown Club... Ben Garland (6-foot-5, 275 pounds) is a rookie defensive lineman from the Air Force Academy who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010... Totaled 115 tackles (52 solo), 11.5 sacks (66 yds.), three forced fumbles and two blocked kicks in 39 career games played (34 starts) for the Falcons... Opened all 13 contests as a senior and totaled 45 tackles (21 solo), 4.5 sacks (30 yds.), to earn second-team All-Mountain West Conference honors from the league coaches... Started all 13 games as a junior and placed fourth on the team with 7.5 tackles for a loss (28 yds.)... Played in all 13 games (eight starts) as a sophomore and finished second among the team's defensive linemen with 31 tackles (15 solo)... Played in four games as a true freshman... Was a first-team All-state selection as a senior at Central High School in Grand Junction, Colo.... An element leader in Cadet Squadron 27 at the USAFA, Ben Garland was born on April 6, 1981.

Riar Geer (6-foot-4, 250 pounds) is a rookie tight end from the University of Colorado who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010... In 46 career games (37 starts) for the Buffaloes, he totaled 87 receptions for 974 (11.2 avg.) yards and 11 touchdowns, ranking fourth, fifth and second, respectively, all-time among tight ends in Colorado history... Earned first-team All-Big 12 Conference honors from the Associated Press and The Sporting News as a senior in 2009 when he recorded 36 receptions for 402 (11.2 avg.) yards and four touchdowns... Played 10 games (8 starts) as a junior and caught 13 passes for 183 yards (14.1 avg.) and two touchdowns... Patrick Honeycutt (5-foot-9, 172 pounds) is a rookie wide receiver from Middle Tennessee State University who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010… Played 36 career games as a three-year starter at Middle Tennessee State, totaling 116 receptions for 1,261 yards (10.9 avg.) with eight touchdowns… Finished his career fourth in school history in receptions (116) and ninth in receiving yards (1,261)… Received third-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors from Phil Steele as a senior in 2009 after registering a team-high 37 receptions for 420 yards (11.4 avg.) with four touchdowns… Led all MTSU receivers with 647 snaps played in 2009… Shared the team lead with 51 catches for 513 yards (10.1 avg.) with three scores in 2008… Set a school record for catches in a two-game period with 20 in 2008… Started 10-of-12 games played for the Blue Raiders in 2007… Redshirted as a freshman in 2005 and missed the 2006 season with a knee injury… Received numerous regional honors at Spain Park High School in Hoover, Ala., and was selected to play in the Max Emfinger All-American Game… Also lettered in baseball and track in high school… Majored in construction management technology at Middle Tennessee State… Patrick Honeycutt was born on Dec. 30, 1986.

Chris Marinelli (6-foot-7, 300 pounds) is a rookie tackle from Stanford University who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010… Played 46 career games (41 starts) at Stanford as a three-time All-Pacific-10 Conference choice (first team in 2009, honorable mention from 2007-08)… Started all 13 games for Stanford in 2009 primarily at right tackle, earning second-team All-America honors from the Associated Press and first-team all-conference accolades… Blocked for a Cardinal offense in 2009 that ranked 11th in the nation in rushing with a school-record 2,837 yards and cleared the way for Heisman Trophy runner-up Toby Gerhart… Started 11-of-12 games played for Stanford in 2008 as an honorable mention All-Pac-10 selection, seeing time at both tackle positions and right guard… Received honorable mention all-conference honors in 2007, starting all 12 games at right tackle, after seeing time in 10 games (5 starts) as a sophomore for Stanford in 2006… Redshirted as a freshman in 2005… Rated as one of the top prospects in the nation at Boston College High School in Boston, where he was a three-year starter at defensive tackle and a two-year starter on offense (tight end, tackle)… Father, Jim, played football at Northeastern University… Majored in classics and economics at Stanford… Chris Marinelli was born on March 3, 1987.

Kyle McCarthy (6-foot-1, 210 pounds) is a rookie safety from the University of Notre Dame who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010… Played 38 career games (26 starts) at Notre Dame and totaled 241 tackles (147 solo) and eight interceptions (108 yds.)... Opened every contest in his final two seasons and recorded more than 100 tackles in each campaign to become the first Notre Dame defensive back to eclipse the 100-tackle mark in a season... Paced the Irish with 101 tackles (66 solo) and five interceptions (90 yds.) as a senior... Produced a team-high 110 tackles (64 solo) as a junior to go along with two interceptions (18 yds.)... Michael Shumard (6-foot-5, 301 pounds) is a rookie guard from Texas A&M who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010… Played 41 games (29 starts) at Texas A&M and manned several different positions along the Aggies' offensive line during his collegiate career... Started 12 games as a senior in 2009 (10 at left tackle and two at left guard) and helped the team average 190.4 rushing yards per game and total just over 465 of offense per game... Started all 12 games as a junior at left tackle... Saw action in all 13 games as a sophomore and helped a unit that paved the way for the nation's 13th-best rushing attack (211.6 yards per game)... Saw action in four games as a freshman in 2006 after redshirting in 2005... Was a three-year starter and two-time first-team all-state selection at Harker Heights High School in Killeen, Texas., where he was a member of Dave Campbell's Texas Football Super Team... Jeff Stehle (6-foot-6, 310 pounds) is a rookie defensive lineman from the University of Wisconsin who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010… Played 38 career games (13 starts) at Wisconsin, totaling 40 tackles (23 solo), 6.5 tackles for a loss (27 yds.), four sacks (20 yds.) and two pass breakups… Started all 13 games as a senior in 2009, placing fifth on the team with three sacks (16 yds.) while adding 19 tackles (11 solo) and four tackles for a loss (20 yds.)… Received the UW Jay Seiler Coaches' Appreciation Award for his work on defense as a senior… Appeared in 12 games as a junior in 2008, posting 12 tackles (9 solo) and one sack… Played in all 13 games in 2007 after not seeing any game action as a redshirt freshman in 2006… Named one of the top 20 players in New York by SuperPrep and was a second-team all-state selection at Moore High School in Staten Island, N.Y…. Cassius Vaughn (5-foot-11, 195 pounds) is a rookie cornerback from the University of Mississippi who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010… Played 50 career games (24 starts) at Mississippi, totaling 152 tackles (107 solo), five interceptions (57 yds.), 20 passes defensed and two forced fumbles... Saw action in all 13 games (12 starts) as a senior and tied for seventh in the Southeastern Conference with 13 passes defensed while contributing 56 tackles (44 solo)... Landis Williams (5-foot-10, 174 pounds) is a rookie wide receiver from the University of Maine who joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010… Played 42 career games (30 starts) at Maine, totaling 142 receptions for 1,679 yards (11.8 avg.) with 23 touchdowns... Also recorded five rushes for 70 yards (14.0 avg.), 19 punt returns for 151 yards (7.9 avg.) and 24 kickoff returns for 505 yards (21.0 avg.)... Tallied the fourth-most receptions (71) in school history as a senior for 798 yards (11.2 avg.) with nine touchdowns while his 7.1 receptions per game placing 12th in the Football Championship Subdivision...
