National TV Games Highlight 2003 Schedule

A home game on Monday night and a Sunday night game in Pittsburgh highlight the Browns 2003 schedule. Despite the national exposure, the Browns schedule in 2003 will be a tough gauntlet for the organization to run.

The Cleveland Browns 2003 schedule was announced today, with two national TV games providing the highlights.

The Browns will be seen on Monday Night Football for the first time since their return in 1999. Unfortunately, the gane will provide a stiff test for the team's defense as the high-powered St. Louis Rams provide the opposition on December 8th. The team's Sunday night game this year will be at Heinz Field on October 5th.

Two of the Browns previous two appearances on Sunday were bad moments for the club, as the Steelers decimated the Browns in their opening game in 1999 and some fans appeared to cheer Tim Couch's injury during a 2002 contest. The 2003 match against the Steelers might provide the team with an opportunity to gain a small measure of revenge for the 1999 debacle.

The Browns are blessed with a bye near the middle of the season, but have a tough schedule in general, as they have to fave five of the last six Super Bowl champions. The AFC North portion of the schedule looks challenging as well, as even the Cincinnati Bengals appear to be resurgent in 2003.
