Browns Nation Finding Its Voice
Don Delco on April 11th, 2011 AT 2:59 PM

First off, I do hate the term “(TEAM) Nation.” Red Sox Nation. Buckeye Nation. Steeler Nation. That term makes me want to puke, but for a lack of a better term or because of a lack of time, I used it in this instance. Forgive me.

In recent years we’ve had to hear how the Steelers fans base is so great. Those terrible towels are shown in stadiums across the NFL and it causes announcers to fawn over Steelers fans.

I’ve always subscribed to the notion that Browns fans are just as supportive as Steelers fans. Browns fans want to be heard, but the lack of wins during the last decade has done a good job silencing those voices.

In recent weeks, Browns fans have found their voice. In a goofy, yet somewhat entertaining online pool, Browns fans are finding their voices. The ‘Madden ’12′ video game, in conjunction with ESPN.com’s SportsNation, is holding an online voting contest to anoint which player will be on the cover.

Browns running back Peyton Hillis is having a VCU-esque run.

At 12 p.m. on Monday, April 18, the results of the final four will be released. Currently, Hillis is in a semifinal matchup with Aaron Rogers with the other semifinal pitting Michael Vick against Adrian Peterson.

Go here to vote.
