Today is the start of training camp for the rookies of the Cleveland Browns, will the rookies be on the field today to kickoff the beginning to the 2003 festivities?

The answer is yes, from information provided to BerniesInsiders.

According to sources close to the team, two, possibly three of the rookies that were selected by the team in the 2003 NFL draft are expected to be under contract with the team within the next 24-hours. While not providing the details on the specific players noted, the team representative was confident expressing that the Browns are making significant progress.

Additionally, contract negotiations between the team and representatives for first round draft selection Jeff Faine and second round selection Chaun Thompson has heated up. Neither player is expected to be in camp Tuesday, but team representatives are optimistic that both players will be in camp when the veterans report on Friday.
