Browns add TE, send Hughes to IR

Ryan Taylor joins the Browns after time with the Packers and Ravens

A day after TE Jordan Cameron had to leave the Raiders game with a concussion, the Browns have acquired TE Ryan Taylor via waivers. The 6'3", 254 tight end is in his fourth year out of North Carolina, and has played in fifty games as a professional, often on special teams. Taylor possesses eight receptions in his career to go with 25 special teams tackles.

Taylor has spent the bulk of his career with the Packers, who drafted him in the seventh round in 2011. After being waived by the Packers on October 6th, he spent a couple of weeks with the Ravens, where he was inactive before being waived.

The Browns also announced today that their battered defensive line had taken another blow, as John Hughes sustained an MCL injury late in the game against Oakland. He has been placed on the IR and can return to practice in Week 15. He would not be able to play, however, until the last week of the season.
