Gipson placed on Injured Reserve

The injuries continue to pile up for the Browns, who lose the NFL interception leader

The Browns today placed S Tashaun Gipson on Injured Reserve due to a knee injury suffered during the fourth quarter of last month's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Gipson, enjoying a breakthrough season in 2014, is the currently tied for the NFL interception lead, despite missing three weeks due to the injury.

The move effectively ends Gipson's season, and adds to a long list of injuries suffered by the Browns defense, which has lost LB Karlos Dansby and DL Phil Taylor, among others.

To replace Gipson, the Browns have elevated LB Scott Solomon off the practice squad. Solomon, who will wear number 54, has bounced around the league after being drafted by Tennessee in the seventh round in 2011. In addition to the Titans, Solomon has appeared in games for the Jets and Bucs, registering ten tackles and one sack over 20 games.
