Well, at least we have one fellow rider on the Jerry Hughes obsession train here in Rumor Central: Plain Dealer beat writer Tom Reed, who expounds on his irresponsible tweet from the other day by writing about how Hughes to the Browns makes a ton of sense.

Welcome the party, buckaroo. There’s some beer over in the cooler, and we’re watching highlight film in the den. Now that Lane Adkins has drawn the straight line between the Browns and Hughes, all that’s left to do is wait to see if Hughes signs a deal or gets franchised.

While we’re watching some video of those 19.5 sacks in the last two years, let’s take a moment to ponder the increased nervousness of the chatter in Buffalo over the last 24 hours, as the Bills have not yet come to an agreement with Hughes on a contract.

At least that’s the ton of the talk coming from fan blogs, who are starting to look at their watches and notice that there are only three days left to franchise Hughes.

Of course, there have been no franchise tags issued so far across the NFL, which might say something about the willingness of teams to deal off draft picks to get their hands on a, say, Ndamukong Suh.
