Thank you. Now, on with the silliness...

At first, it looked like true love.

But then, a villain emerged.

Then, things just got hurtful.

Ultimately, there’s no happy ending for Glenville and Ohio State product Ted Ginn in Cleveland. The Browns are left standing on the sidewalk with some wilting flowers in hand while Ginn gets into a fancy new sportscar with the Carolina Panthers, making this analogy officially uncomfortable.

The bad news was brought to us by the Charlotte Observer, who left themselves some wiggle room by saying that Ginn is “expected” to sign with the Panthers, who had a poor return game after Ginn left for the Cardinals.

The Tennessee Titans, also looking to upgrade their return game, were left standing with false smiles right next to the Browns on the sidewalk.

The Browns used both Travis Benjamin and Marlon Moore on kick-off returns last year, in addition to trying Shaun Draughn and Taylor Gabriel in the role. Moore was probably the most successful of the group, returning 13 kickoffs for 322 yards.

The Browns were not involved, to the best of our knowledge, in the pursuit of Jacoby Jones, another kick returner who was available prior to free agency.
