Last Week Tonight star John Oliver tackled publicly funded stadiums on Sunday night. One of the targets of his jokes was Cincinnati.
It appears the Bengals have a clause in their lease that states if someone invents a holographic replay machine, the city must purchase it for use in Paul Brown Stadium, despite the economic hardships the city is enduring.
Public funding for stadium improvements is clearly a hot topic in Cleveland as well, but at least the Browns weren’t the butt of Oliver’s jokes on Sunday night.
He finishes the segment with a halftime speech that again pokes fun at the Bengals, but does so in a very Cleveland-centric way.
