Browns Sign LB Moise Fokou

The Cleveland Browns signed linebacker Moise Fokou on Monday and released receiver Rodney Smith to keep the roster at 90 players.

The Cleveland Browns announced on Monday that they have signed linebacker Moise Fokou and released wide reciever Rodney Smith to keep the roster at 90 men. 

Fokou, entering his seventh NFL season, played college football for Maryland. He was drafted in Round 7 by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009 and has played 73 games in his career, with the Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans and New Orleans Saints. He has a career total of 195 tackles, three sacks, six passes defensed, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. Additionally, he's a special teams asset, with 40 tackles made in that phase of the game. He most recently played two games for the Saints in 2014.

Smith played in three games for the Browns in 2014, totaling 14 snaps according to Pro Football Focus. He had one receiving target and no receptions. He also had six catches in the 2014 preseason, for 77 yards and a touchdown.
