With the roster cuts to 75 on Sept. 1, there are several of the Browns 12 draft choices that could be on the hot seat come Tuesday. Fourth-round draft pick Vince Mayle has not had a very impressive camp to date and the numbers at the receiver position work against him. The best thing Mayle has going for him is that he’s a high pick and the only wide receiver the Browns have drafted in the past two drafts.
Sixth-round pick Charles Gaines has been coming on in recent days. Mike Pettine spoke very highly of him. The Browns had several injuries at the cornerback position, which allowed Gaines to show what he could do.
Linebacker Hayes Pullard, a seventh-round pick, is battling to make the team primarily on special teams. Those three will likely survive the roster cuts to 75, but moves that could be done first are with sixth-round pick tight end Randall Telfer and seventh-round pick cornerback Ifo Ekre-Olomo.
