Danny Shelton Cleveland Browns NFL

The Browns drafted Danny Shelton to vastly help their 32nd ranked rushing defense and his first test comes Sunday against Chris Ivory and the Jets

BEREA— Danny Shelton is being counted upon heavily to improve the Browns 32nd ranked rushing defense from a year ago. The top pick has been inserted into the lineup and displaced veterans Phil Taylor and Ishmaa’ily Kitchen in the middle of the Browns defense. The Browns are hoping that the Jets will have to double-team Shelton with center Nick Mangold and one of the guards, which would free up one of the Browns inside linebackers to try and slow down the Jets running backs, led by Chris Ivory.

The  Browns are hoping to slow down the rushing attack of the Jets and force quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick into a passing game, which should help the Browns with one of the better secondaries in the NFL, led by three Pro Bowl performers last year in Joe Haden, Donte Whitner and Tashaun Gipson.
