Joe Haden inactive for Browns against San Diego

After injuring his ribs against the Oakland Raiders, Joe Haden will not play for the Browns against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday afternoon.

CLEVELAND-- Browns Pro Bowl cornerback Joe Haden is inactive today and will not play for the Browns against the San Diego Chargers.

Despite being listed as probable for the game, the rib and finger injuries Haden suffered against the Oakland Raiders in week three proved too much for the cornerback to handle.

On Friday, when he spoke with the media, Haden seemed to have felt that he was ready to contribute.

"I'm ready to go. Ready to go," Haden said. "I'm going to be fine."

Haden even felt that he had an obligation to play, for the team and for the defense."

"You gotta do what you gotta do, man, when you're trying to get the defense right," Haden said. "I feel like I gotta be out there."

Now that Haden won't be out there, replacing him in the starting lineup is second-year corner Pierre Desir, who will be tasked with handling Chargers wideout Keenan Allen.
