The OBR Weekly NFL Power Rankings: Week 6

A little late but our NFL Power Rankings are out. Do the Cleveland Browns fall? Are there any good teams in the league outside of the Top 10? Some thoughts:

Rank Team Last Rank W or L Record Jared Barry Lane Andrea Rick Fred Hayden
New England 1 W 5 - 0 1 1 1 1 1 1 1
Green Bay 2 W 6 - 0 2 2 2 3 2 2 2
Cincinnati 3 W 6 - 0 3 3 3 2 3 3 3
Denver 4 W 6 - 0 7 5 4 4 5 4 4
Carolina 7 W 5 - 0 4 4 5 6 4 5 5
Note: A clear cutoff with the 5 unbeaten teams and a clear distinction between the top 3 and the next 2. The Panthers got their signature win but still are not believed in while the Broncos barely hold the #4 spot after trying to give a game away to the Browns. Another struggle, even if they win, could see them drop below teams with losses.
Atlanta 6 L 5 - 1 5 7 7 5 6 6 6
Arizona 5 L 4 - 2 8 6 6 7 7 7 7
Jets 8 W 4 - 1 6 8 8 8 8 8 8
Pittsburgh 11 W 4 - 2 9 9 9 9 9 9 9
Note: Another quick cutoff with only one team below, the Vikings, with a winning record. These 4 teams have shown some consistency but have some question marks. Falcons get the benefit of the doubt losing on the road on Thursday Night since most teams do. The Steelers still with a winning record without Big Ben is a surprise.
Buffalo 9 L 3 - 3 10 10 12 10 10 10 11
Indianapolis 12 L 3 - 3 14 11 11 13 11 12 12
Minnesota 16 W 3 - 2 12 12 13 11 12 16 10
Philadelphia 18 W 3 - 3 15 13 10 12 13 13 14
Seattle 10 L 2 - 4 13 14 14 17 14 11 18
Giants 14 L 3 - 3 16 15 15 14 15 17 13
Dallas 13 BYE 2 - 3 11 16 17 15 16 14 17
St. Louis 17 BYE 2 - 3 18 18 16 18 19 15 15
San Diego 15 L 2 - 4 17 17 18 16 17 18 19
Note: Above is a list of teams most thought would be good going into the season. Most have underachieved and hope seems to be slipping at this point. No one would be shocked to see any of these teams in the playoffs or out of the running in about 4 weeks. Been an interesting season for this group of teams.
Oakland 19 BYE 2 - 3 19 20 19 19 18 19 16
Cleveland 20 L 2 - 4 21 21 21 20 20 20 20
Houston 23 W 2 - 4 20 19 20 27 22 23 23
Kansas City 22 L 1 - 5 23 22 23 22 25 22 22
Washington 21 L 2 - 4 26 26 22 23 21 21 21
Chicago 26 L 2 - 4 24 23 29 24 23 26 26
Miami 29 W 2 - 3 22 24 24 21 28 29 28
Note: The Dolphins get a big bump with their new hard nosed coach. The Browns stay in the same spot, even though multiple media outlets, including SI and FanSided, have moved them up after their loss on Sunday. It shows how bad the middle to bottom of the league is that a loss, and 2 - 4 record, still has the Browns at 20. The range for our experts was also small, either 20 or 21 were the only rankings given the home team.
Baltimore 24 L 1 - 5 27 28 25 25 24 25 30
Tennessee 25 L 1 - 4 30 30 26 26 26 24 24
Tampa Bay 27 BYE 2 - 3 25 27 27 28 27 27 25
San Francisco 28 W 2 - 4 28 25 28 29 30 28 27
New Orleans 31 W 2 - 4 29 29 30 30 29 31 29
Jacksonville 30 L 1 - 5 32 31 32 32 31 30 31
Detroit 32 W 1 - 5 31 32 31 31 32 32 32
