Terrelle Pryor is active and expected to make his debut for the Browns at wide receiver

Former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor is expected to make his NFL debut at wide receiver today with the Browns against the 49ers

CLEVELAND—The long awaited return of Johnny Manziel by many Browns fans will have another twist to it.

Manziel will have another wide receiver to throw to as former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor is active and expected to play 15-20 snaps according to ESPN’s Adam Caplan.

After originally making the 53 man roster in September, Pryor was released to make room for running back Robert Turbin. 

Pryor was re-signed to the Browns active roster on Dec. 2 when Josh McCown was placed on injured reserve. Pryor was inactive for last week’s against the Bengals.

In addition to Pryor being active, three wide receivers are inactive including Taylor Gabriel, Andrew Hawkins and Dwayne Bowe. Hawkins is still in the NFL’s concussion protocol, while Gabriel was cleared this week, but just practice two days. Bowe is a healthy scratch for the eighth time this season. 

Active at receiver for the Browns besides Pryor are Brian Hartline (hip), Travis Benjamin (shoulder), Marlon Moore (ribs) and Darius Jennings. 

Besides the three receivers inactive, cornerbacks Joe Haden and Justin Gilbert remain in the concussion protocol and cornerback Pierre Desir is inactive, as well.offensive lineman Gabe Ikard.Rookie Charles Gaines will start opposite Tramon Williams at cornerback, while Austin Pasztor starts at left guard for rookie Cameron Erving
