Cleveland’s injury-plagued season continues, as another starter’s year has ended.
WR Andrew Hawkins was placed on season-ending injured reserve on Wednesday morning, becoming the third Browns starter to be placed on the list over the last couple of weeks.
Previously, WR Brian Hartline was placed on IR with a season-ending broken collarbone after Cleveland’s win over San Francisco and CB Joe Haden was placed on IR on December 14, after failing to clear the league’s concussion protocol.
Hawkins, who caught 27 passes for 276 yards this season, suffered a concussion against the Pittsburgh Steelers on November 15 and hasn't been activated since said contest. .
Meanwhile, to replace Hawkins, the Browns signed LB Jayson DiManche, who appeared on the team’s active roster for three weeks earlier in the season, and signed OL Conor Boffeli to the practice squad.
The Browns will take on the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. ET.
