OBR Staff NFL Mock Draft: 32 Picks

Our OBR Staff got together to create our NFL Mock Draft. We completed the 1st Round as well as the #32 pick for our Cleveland Browns.

Pick # Team OBR GM Player Position School
1 Rams Brendan Jared Goff QB California
My top QB. No brainer.
2 Eagles Hayden Carson Wentz QB NDSU
Philly didn't trade up for nothing, folks.
3 Chargers Jared DeForest Buckner DL Oregon
Ramsey or Buckner make the most sense, when in doubt go with the big guy.
4 Cowboys Rick Joey Bosa DL tOSU
Cowboys need DL help and Bosa is a stud.
5 Jaguars Sam Jalen Ramsey CB FSU
Ramsey is an instant upgrade over House, and Colvin has his share on injury concerns, easy pick on one of the top players available.
6 Ravens Brendan Laremy Tunsil OT Ole Miss
Arguably the top talent in the class.
7 49ers Hayden Ronnie Stanley OT Notre Dame
San Francisco grabs a top tackle... Only because this pick will be traded to the Jets. Paxton Lynch.
8 Browns Barry Ezekiel Elliott RB tOSU
Whether as a safe pick for the new braintrust, or blackmail for the Dolphins second round pick, Elliott goes here.
9 Buccaneers Jared Vernon Hargreaves III CB Florida
Hargreaves is the pick in most Mocks because of need. He fills it well. An OT possible if 1 of the 2 fall.
10 Giants Rick Shaq Lawson DL Clemson
Giants build their DL just like in their former Championship years.
11 Bears Sam Jarran Reed DT Alabama
John Fox gets his defensive centerpiece in the hard-nosed run stopper from Alabama.
12 Saints Brendan Sheldon Rankins DT Louisville
Best player available. Provides interior pressure to combat talented QBs in division.
13 Dolphins Jared Leonard Floyd LB Georgia
Floyd's name has flown up the board recently. Dolphins want Zeke but a LB works as well.
14 Raiders Rick Myles Jack LB UCLA
Raiders are willing to take a risk with an impact defender.
15 Titans Sam Jack Conklin OT MSU
The Titans invested in their young QB in Mariota, now is their time to protect him with the best OT available.
16 Lions Brendan Ryan Kelly C Alabama
Have seen the Lions connected to Kelly recently.
17 Falcons Jared Darron Lee LB tOSU
Falcons can go WR here but Lee's versatility a match for Dan Quinn.
18 Colts Rick Taylor Decker OL tOSU
The Colts are heartbroken that Ryan Kelly is gone, but take Taylor Decker to help protect Andrew Luck.
19 Bills Sam Reggie Ragland LB Alabama
A'Shawn Robinson makes sense here, but Rex finds his new 'Bart Scott' to lead his defense in Ragland.
20 Jets Brendan Paxton Lynch QB Memphis
Jets get their QB.
21 Redskins Jared LaQuon Treadwell WR Ole Miss
Not the perfect fit in Jay Gruden's system but helping Kirk Cousins become a Franchise QB is #1 goal.
22 Texans Rick Will Fuller WR ND
Houston needs weapons. WR Will Fuller is the choice. Brock is a happy man.
23 Vikings Sam Josh Doctson WR TCU
The 3rd WR flies off the board with Doctson, a perfect fit for Norv Turner's vertical offense.
24 Bengals Brendan Corey Coleman WR Baylor
Coleman is a good fit across from AJ Green.
25 Steelers Jared Mackensie Alexander CB Clemson
Not a Buckeye for once, the Steelers need a lot of help in the secondary and go with the Clemson star
26 Seahawks Rick Robert Nkemdiche DT Miss
Seattle needs a little more punch up front and gets it with Nkemdiche.
27 Packers Sam A'Shawn Robinson DT Alabama
With the retirement of B.J. Raji, the Packers take their biggest need and the Best Player Available, and get a steal at 27.
28 Chiefs Brendan William Jackson III CB Houston
Great pairing of young CBs with Jackson & Marcus Peters
29 Cardinals Jared Noah Spence OLB E. Kentucky
Justin Houston could miss the entire season. Andy Reid takes a risk on talent here.
30 Panthers Rick Kevin Dodd DE Clemson
Panthers defense gets better. That's scary.
31 Broncos Sam Germain Ifedi G/OT TA&M
It's tempting to take a QB, but Elway does not tend to reach. Instead, they protect their eventual QB here with Ifedi.
32 Browns Fred Michael Thomas WR OSU
Browns finally address a major need with a high draft pick
OBR Staff's Browns Pick at #8
OBR GM Player Picked Position School Analysis
Brendan Sheldon Rankins DT Louisville I know it's unexpected but if I had to stay at 8, I'd take Rankins. He gives the Browns the ideal skill set at 3-technique to pair with Danny Shelton on the interior DL. Doubt it's realistic though. I want them to trade down, get a 2nd & Treadwell tomorrow.
Fred Ezekiel Elliott RB OSU If this happens, think they'll trade down again but at this point I'd take Zeke
Hayden Trade with Miami N/A N/A Browns move back, pick up another pick or two and draft a WR.
Jared Darron Lee LB OSU Expecting a trade but an out of the box pick like Lee wouldn't be too shocking.
Rick Laquon Treadwell WR Ole Miss With Bosa and Buckner off the board- and no trading here in the mock- I reach just a couple picks for WR. Treadwell is my choice.
Sam Ezekiel Elliott RB OSU Ideally, the Browns would love a WR, but it's tough to justify at No. 8...so the Browns take the top playmaker available in Elliott.
OBR Staff's Browns Pick at #32
OBR GM Player Picked Position School Analysis
Brendan Karl Joseph S WVU Joseph is a great talent. Have to think the ACL will be okay in the long-term.
Barry Michael Thomas WR tOSU Call me a Buckeye homer, but I really struggled with Thomas vs. Eli Apple at this slot. Apple probably has the most value, but Jackson needs weapons for new quarterback RG3.
Hayden Michael Thomas WR Ohio State Browns need a WR here and Thomas will be the best available here.
Jared Chris Jones DL Miss State Adding Zeke then getting a stud on the DL makes the 1st two picks amazing for the Browns. Can play 3 or 5t in Horton's D.
Rick Karl Joseph S WVU Torn between Thomas and Joseph. Went with top safety in the draft.
Sam Michael Thomas WR OSU The Browns add potentially one of the best WR's in the draft, while adding a fan favorite at the same time.
