NFL Draft: Grading Each 1st Round Pick

With the Cleveland Browns likely to be highly active throughout the NFL Draft, will be grading each pick early, starting with the 1st Round tonight. Hit refresh to get the updates shortly after each pick.

  1. Rams - Jared Goff - Have had Goff as the top QB throughout the whole process. The Rams made a great choice here. Goff has everything they need to have a stud QB for the next 10 to 15 years. Grade - A
  2. Eagles - Carson Wentz - Wentz shot up the boards based on his size and sizzle from small NDSU. The Elway, Andrew Luck comparisons were crazy. Trading up for him is just as crazy and impacts the grade. Grade - C-
  3. Chargers - Joey Bosa - Shocking for the Chargers. We thought Buckner or Ramsey but they took the big Buckeye. Surprising pick that the Chargers kept under their hat. Grade - B+
  4. Cowboys - Ezekiel Elliott - Back to back Buckeyes, the Cowboys are looking to win now and Zeke helps with that. High for a back but this is the team that should make that move. Grade - B
  5. Jaguars - Jalen Ramsey - Ramsey is just a stud. He should help right away as the Jags want to compete right away. Ramsey can guard receivers, tight ends and backs. Grade - A
  6. Ravens - Ronnie Stanley - Ozzie always builds with the big guys. Stanley has been rising over the last few weeks. Baltimore needed an OLman and got their guy here. No sizzle but that is what Baltimore does. Grade - B-
  7. Niners - DeForest Buckner - Ouch. The player I really wanted is a great one for the Niners. He can play in a variety of places on the line and should make a huge impact. Grade - A+
  8. Browns trade to the Titans, Titans select - Jack Conklin - Titans get their tackle. Don't love Conklin but he is good. Protecting their QB is key with the other talent on the team. With their extra picks, the Titans make things happen and are aggressive. Grade - B- (Grading Browns trade - B - Keep adding Top 100 level talent.)
  9. Bucs trade to the Bears, Bears select - Leonard Floyd - The Bears only gave up a 4th rounder to move up 2 spots to get the LB that was fast rising in Floyd. Grade - B-
  10. Giants - Eli Apple - Two Eli's on a team. Big Apple. Apple of Their Eye. Shocking pick, seems like a reach. Don't love the pick especially after the Janoris Jenkins signing. Grade - D+
  11. Bucs - Vernon Hargreaves III - Pretty much everyone got this pick right for the Bucs as they stay in state. Not everyone loves him but he is very good and a need in Tampa Bay. Grade - B+
  12. Saints - Sheldon Rankins - The Saints need a defender and Rankins if very good. Some have compared him to Aaron Donald, which is a bit of a stretch. Rankins could make a huge impact. Grade - A-
  13. Dolphins - Laremy Tunsil - His fall ends. Miami might not be the best city for him but he is a great talent and could have a big chip on his shoulder after falling due to the weed video 10 minutes before the draft started. Grade - A+ for talent, Incomplete overall.
  14. Raiders - Karl Joseph - Love the kid and great fit for the Raiders here. Love it. Browns on the clock. Grade - A
  15. Browns - Corey Coleman - The Browns get a WR but not the one many expected. Coleman was high on many boards but low on others. For me, Treadwell, Shaq Lawson and Myles Jack would have been the pick. RG3 gets a Baylor guy who is physical and tough. Grade - B
  16. Lions - Taylor Decker - Decker is a solid tackle who should plug and play at right tackle. Very talented, can get better. Buckeyes keep dominating. Grade - B+
  17. Falcons - Keanu Neal - Dan Quinn gets his Kam Chancellor here and are very happy to have done so. Neal is a big hitter and has some range. A few surprising high picks and many are in the secondary. Grade - B
  18. Colts - Ryan Kelly - The Colts get the best center in the draft and help protect Andrew Luck. Not a flashy pick but a necessary pick for Indy. Solid. Grade - B
  19. Bills - Shaquille Lawson - Not shocking for Rex Ryan to get a pass-rushing defender. Lawson was really liked by the Browns and can make an impact all over the field. Bills still have question long term at QB but Rex loves his defenders. Grade - A-
  20. Jets - Darron Lee - The Buckeye Draft continues with Lee going to New York. Paxton Lynch continues to fall but Lee is a very good, versatile pick for the Jets at this point. Myles Jack, Laquon Treadwell also continue to fall. Jets, like the Bills, focus on defenders. Grade - B-
  21. Washington trade to the Texans, Texans select - Will Fuller - Not a WR that I like. He is fast and can't catch. He is Ted Ginn Jr. for Brock Osweiler to throw deep balls to and hope he catches them with his small hands and body catches. Grade - D
  22. Washington - Josh Doctson - Many thought Doctson was the best WR in the NFL. Getting a bigger WR for Kirk Cousins is huge. A lot of talent on offense. Washington need more defense but can't turn down this WR at this point. Grade - B+
  23. Vikings - Laquon Treadwell - He falls to a very good place for him. He gives the Vikings a big receiver that was considered #1 by most but fell due to speed concerns. For the Browns, at least he didn't fall to the Bengals. Grade - A
  24. Bengals - William Jackson - A surprising pick as the Bengals have been drafting corners pretty regularly recently but the run on corners has impacted them. Steelers reportedly liked Jackson which is a side benefit. Grade - C
  25. Steelers - Artie Burns - A physical talent but struggles with toughness. Interesting fit with the Steelers here who might have been hurt by the Jackson selection. They need to upgrade their secondary but Burns might need some seasoning. Grade - C-
  26. Broncos - Paxton Lynch - Big QB who can move fits the Kubiak offense. Lynch seems to need some time to develop but with a good offensive line and run game, plus a great defense, Lynch is protected. Grade - A
  27. Packers - Kenny Clark - Very few defensive linemen so far. Pack tend to go big, early and often. Clark has an interesting back story related to his father but is a big, fast defensive linemen. A little high for Clark over the two 'Bama players. Grade - B-
  28. Chiefs trade to the Niners, Niners select - Joshua Garnett - Niners get an interior offensive lineman by trading up from the 2nd Round to get their guy. A bit of a surprise to move up for Garnett but they need a talented offensive line for Chip Kelly's offense. Grade - B
  29. Cardinals - Robert Nkemdiche - Even without the off the field concerns, there are concerns about the Ole Miss defender. He is inconsistent and tends to play a little high. The off the field concerns are even bigger for most teams. Have to hope he can stay on the field. Grade - C-
  30. Panthers - Vernon Butler - A big time defensive lineman fits what Carolina values. Even though they lost @Josh Norman, they build up their front with a lineman who can move and still has tons of room to develop. Grade - B
  31. Seahawks - Germain Ifedi - Seattle wants to build from the inside out but Ifedi is a bit of a surprise here. Ifedi has the upside but still needs to develop quite a bit. Grade - D+

What grades do you agree with? Which do you hate? Who do you want the Browns to pick at #32?
