BEREA—As many expected, the Browns traded down with the Titans to the 15th spot in the first round. The Titans took offensive tackle Jack Conklin with the pick and added a third-round round pick (76th overall) this year and a second-round pick in the 2017 draft. The Browns also gave up a sixth-round (176th overall) this year.
The Browns originally traded the No. 2 overall pick last week with the Eagles to No. 8. picking up an extra first round pick in 2017 and a second-round pick in 2018.
Laremy Tunsil was available when the Browns were up at No. 8 but the Browns decided to forego the selection and trade down. Reports said that the Browns were high on Conklin themselves and when the trade happened most felt the Titans would draft Tunsil, who was ESPN Mel Kiper’s overall No. 1 player listed.
However, a tweet posted on Tunsil’s twitter account just prior to the draft showed him smoking with a bong and wearing a gas mask.Several of the players reportedly the Browns were interested were drafted ahead of them besides the two quarterbacks, Jared Goff and Carson Wentz. Joey Bosa went third overall and Ezekiel Elliott went fourth overall. DeForest Buckner went seventh overall.
