BEREA, OHIO-- The Browns ended their 2016 NFL Draft with a bang.
With the No. 250 overall selection in the seventh round, the Browns selected LB Scooby Wright III of the University of Arizona.
Wright was unanimously the most productive defender in college football during the 2014 season, picking up the Bronco Nagurski Trophy (Most Outstanding Defender), Lombardi Award (Best Lineman or Linebacker) and the Chuck Bednarik Award. (Nation's Top Defender).
Amidst that 2014 season, he had 169 tackles, including 29 for loss, with 14 sacks and six forced fumbles.
Wright started just three games for the Wildcats in 2015 due to injuries, as recorded just a single tackle in the first half of Arizona's season-opening game against UTSA.
Wright returned for the Wildcats to play against UCLA, but missed the rest of the season until he played in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, in which he won the Defensive MVP honors for his 15-tackle, 3.5-tackle-for-loss and two-sack performance.
