Browns sign Corey Coleman, 5 more draft picks

The Browns announced the official signing of six draft picks, including number one pick Corey Coleman

 BEREA, Ohio--The Browns  have six in the fold, eight more to go.

The team announced they have signed WR Corey Coleman, WR Jordan Payton, OL Spencer Drango, WR Rashard Higgins, DB Trey Caldwell and LB Scooby Wright III. They are the first of the club’s 14 draft picks to sign.

 WR Corey Coleman | 5-11, 185 | Baylor

1st round (No. 15 overall)

Started 28 of his 35 career games played at Baylor…Caught 173 passes for 3,009 yards and 33 TDs…Ran for 164 yards and a TD…2015 Biletnikoff Winner, All-America honors in 2014 and 2015, First Team All-Big 12 in 2014 and 2015…Holds Baylor single-season TD reception record (20) and career TD reception record (33)…First player in Baylor history to record two 1,000-yard receiving seasons…Attended Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas.

WR Jordan Payton | 6-1, 209 | UCLA

5th round (No. 154 overall)

Started 40 of 52 career games played at UCLA…Totaled 201 receptions for 2,702 yards and 14 TDs…Finished as UCLA’s all-time leader in career receptions…His 78 catches in 2015 were the second-most in a single-season in school history…All-Pac-12 selection in 2014 and 2015…Recipient of the team’s Jerry Long "Heart" Award in 2014…Attended Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, Calif.
OL Spencer Drango | 6-6, 315 | Baylor

5th round (No. 168 overall)

Started all 48 career games at Baylor…All-America selection in 2014 and 2015, All-Big 12 First Team selection from 2013-15 and four-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree…Named Big 12 Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2014 and Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2015…Named to the All-Big 12 Freshman Team and All-America Freshman Team in 2012…Attended Cedar Park High School in Cedar Park, Texas.

 WR Rashard Higgins | 6-1, 198 | Colorado State

5th round (No. 172 overall)

Started 37 of 38 career games played at Colorado State…Caught 239 passes for 3,649 yards and 31 TDs, all of which were career records at Colorado State…Led the nation in 2014 with 1,750 receiving yards and 17 TD receptions, both of which set single-season school records…All-America selection in 2014, as well as First Team All-Mountain West honoree in 2014 and 2015…Recorded a reception in every game of his college career…Attended Mesquite High School in Mesquite, Texas.

 DB Trey Caldwell | 5-9, 185 | Louisiana-Monroe

5th round (No. 173 overall)

Started 41 of 48 career games played at Louisiana-Monroe…Amassed 141 tackles, 21 passes defensed and two INTs…Also returned 14 kickoffs for 323 yards and a TD as a senior in 2015…Played in 13 games in 2015, and totaled 52 tackles, 10 passes defensed and one INT returned for a 40-yard TD…Attended Lloyd V. Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas.

 LB Scooby Wright III | 6-0, 240 | Arizona

7th round (No. 250 overall)
Started 29 of 30 career games played…Totaled 269 tackles, 16.5 sacks, six forced fumbles and an INT…Earned the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, the Rotary Lombardi Award, the Chuck Bednarik Award and the Pat Tillman Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2014, ranking in the top-5 of the FBS in tackles (163), sacks (14) and forced fumbles (six)…Attended Cardinal Newman High School in Santa Rosa, Calif.
