Erving expecting to handle his role well

Second-year center Cameron Erving said he's made great strides in becoming an NFL center, but knows he still has a long way to go.

BEREA,Ohio--Cameron Erving knows he has big shoes to fill after the departure of Pro Bowl center Alex Mack. Erving said he's worked hard to make the transition, but knows he still has a ways to go to be the player he wants to be.

"The center position, playing the position in college it was relatively easy for me to pick up because I had a great guy, Brian Storch, to learn from," Erving said. "Also, being in that offense it was easy to  pick up because being in that offense for three plus years it was pretty simple for me to slide inside there.

"Learning this offense at the NFL level is different and i definitely feel I've come a long way," he said. "I'm comfortable in the offense at and am putting all of my efforts into being the best center and the best player I can be."
